Thanks Craig Ballantyne of Turbulence Training!

Friday, January 4th, 2008

Just a quick note to thank Craig Ballantyne of Turbulence Training. I recently wrote Craig a testimonial for his fat burning program Turbulence Training. I have used the principles of Turbulence Training to help me burn the fat over the last 6 weeks or so and the results have been great.

Craig was good enough to post the testimonial to his blog which was great of him.

If you are looking for a new training program to kick start your metabolism and burn the fat in 2008 then you should invest in Turbulence Training and apply it to your exercise routine.

Over the Christmas break I created a bodyweight routine based on the prinicples I learnt from Turbulence Training

It went like this:

* Step Ups 15 x Each Side
* Prisoner Squats X 15
* Push Ups x 15
* Static Lunges X 15 Each Side
* 250 metre Sprint

I completed each exercise just using bodyweight one after the other to form what Craig would call a complex.

Then I rested for 60 seconds and repeated. I went through the complex three times taking just under 20 minutes to complete.

The result was a major ramp up in my metabolism for the next 48 hours and an incredible leg work out.

Mission 1 : Day 21 of 100 - First Day Back at Gym

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

Today was my first day back at the gym.

My program for the next 3 to 4 weeks is designed for me to make progress and ease back into the training. In the past I have always gone to hard to early and suffered as a result. So even though I have only had 10 days or so off I will hold myself back a little just to allow my body to get used to training again.

With 79 days left until the completion of the 100 day mission I am adding in 20 minutes of HIIT cardio after each weight session. As well I will be doing longer sessions of cardio on my cardio days.

One of the key principles I am using now is what I have learnt from Craig Ballantyne author of Turbulence Training and that is the principle of keeping my body in a state of confusion by changing my routine regularly.

The other key principle I have got from both Craig and Alwyn Cosgrove is the use of compound exercises supersetted. I will write an article on this concept soon. I highly recommend Craig’s program to anyone looking for rapid fat burning solutions.

For some reason I look like I had a heavy night of drinking in todays photos. I can assure you I did not … I think I was perhaps dehydrated from the trip home the day before and as a result retaining water.

Politically Incorrect Holiday Fat Loss Tips

By: Craig Ballantyne, CSCS, MS

I was at a big event last week and was reminded how
important it is to have strategies for this season of high-calorie
parties and busy schedules. But I get ticked off by the tired old
suggestions you find on the Internet or in magazines like Woman’s World.

Often the suggestions are lack any substance, because the writers don’t want to imply you actually have to make a sacrifice to succeed. They make fat loss sound easy, as if all you had to do was park at the far end of the parking lot and you’d burn all the

3500 Calories To Lose A Pound - Is This Formula All Wrong?

Most fitness conscious people have heard that there are 3,500 calories in a pound of fat, so if you create a deficit of 3500 calories in a week, you lose a pound of weight. If you create a deficit of 7000 calories in a week, you lose two pounds, and so on. Right? Well, not so fast…

Dr. Kevin Hall, an investigator at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda has done some interesting research about the mechanisms regulating human body weight. He recently published a new paper in the International Journal of Obesity that throws a wrench in works of the “3500 calories to lose a pound” idea.

“The Incredible Shrinking Fat Cell”…
What Really Happens When Body Fat is Burned?
By Tom Venuto, NSCA-CPT, CSCS
www.BurnTheFat.com

Earlier this week someone in our discussion forum wrote, “I haven’t “LOST” any fat… I know EXACTLY where it went! I got a chuckle out of that because I “got” the joke, but truth is, most people really don’t know how fat cells work, how the fat burning process takes place or where the fat goes when it’s burned. It’s actually quite a complex biochemical process, but I’ll explain it as simply as possible, so by the end of this article, you’ll be a “fat burning” expert!
